Age-Related Macular Degeneration and You

February ushers in Age-related Macular Degeneration, also known as “AMD”, awareness month. AMD is the leading cause of vision loss in Americans 50 years and older. The “macula” is the highly sensitive location in the retina responsible for our entire central vision. Hence, damage to this part of our eye is highly detrimental to our visual function and activities of daily living!

Early detection of the disease is the best treatment! The first step is scheduling a complete Eye Exam with an experienced eye doctor. You can call our office at 210-960-5494 to schedule with Dr. Toni Racoma.
